Since 1985, Richard Winger
has edited Ballot Access News. He's knowledgeable on the statutes, regulations, and legal opinions governing
the rights of political parties in all fifty states. He's also familiar
with the all the many minor political parties throughout the U.S.
He's contributed to Democracy's
Moment, The
Encyclopedia of Third Parties in America, Multiparty
Politics in America, and The
New Populist Reader. He's also written for the Wall Street Journal,
the American Review of Politics, University of Mass. Law Review, California
Journal, Election Law Journal, Cleveland State Law Review, Chronicles,
and Fordham Urban Law Journal. He's a frequent commentator on TV
and radio.
In 1966, Winger graduated UC Berkeley
with a B.A. in Political Science, followed by graduate studies at UCLA.
