... is scheduled as the guest speaker for the 203rd meeting of the Karl Hess Club, to convene in May 16, 2011.

Ben Pleasants on "From Eroticism to Pornography."

Ben Pleasants's latest novel, Spearmint Leaves, may politely be described as an erotic novel. It's a novel that contains erotic scenes.

Others might instead call Spearmint Leaves pornographic, because it contains characters who work in the porn industry and engage in pornographic acts.

Ben will explain the difference between the two terms, and also how they may be synonymous.

We will also explore how pornography may be socially useful and a legitimate literary form, one which dates from antiquity.
