...is scheduled as the guest speaker for the 259th meeting of the Karl Hess Club, to convene on November 16, 2015.

Joseph Miranda on "Challenge to Liberty in the 21st Century."

Miranda will discuss how global developments relate to libertarianism here in the U.S. and abroad.

A major conflict is brewing as Putin's Russia adopts Eurasianism, a geopolitical strategy to challenge the Atlantic alliance (i.e., the U.S.and NATO), with the civil wars in Ukraine and Syria becoming proxy fights. Western European countries are enacting laws to deal with conflicts between citizens and new immigrants, with censorship on the rise. Reaction is taking exotic forms, such as National Bolshevism. Additionally, a fifth generation of warfare is emerging, involving paramilitary and networked groups.

WIll all this result in an Orwellian future of continental struggles between Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia? Or is this New World Order headed for dissolution? And will there be opportunities for libertarians? Can we use emerging technologies, such as cybernetics, to create a freer world?
